How to Solve Climate Change Problem Essay
Global warming and climate change is a very serious problem that requires action. This is a problem that is threatening all life on the surface of the earth. The survival of the human race on this planet is essential and we need to do what we can to solve the problem.
Global warming is a man-made problem
The debate about whether global warming is caused by humans continues. There are still a lot of scientists who argue that it is not, but the majority of scientists agree. In fact, 97% of scientists claim that climate change is real.
It is a fact that human activities have caused a large portion of the warming that has occurred since the 1950s. These activities include burning coal, oil, and other fossil fuels. These releases of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere trap heat in the upper and lower parts of the atmosphere. These greenhouse gas emissions are also responsible for the increasing ocean temperatures and sea levels.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has evaluated the evidence regarding the causes of climate change. The most recent report concluded that human activity is the primary driver. The IPCC stated that more than half of the observed increase in global average surface temperature from 1951 to 2010 was due to human activity.
It is a threat to all life on the surface of the earth
Climate change is one of the greatest threats to human health. Global warming has been linked to heat waves, water scarcity, and severe fires. These changes in weather could lead to more famine and death. The impacts of climate change have reached every region of the world.
Climate change has been caused by humans through the release of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. These gases act like a blanket over the earth, trapping the sun’s heat and preventing it from escaping into space.
Since the Industrial Revolution, we have added about 7 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. In the last twenty years, our emissions have grown by a little over 20 percent.
Scientists are using a variety of scenarios to project how climate change will impact our planet. Many expect that unmitigated emissions will cause global temperature to increase several degrees by the end of this century.
In addition, experts say that the consequences of climate change will be felt by everyone, not just those living in wealthy countries. People in areas with fewer resources will be the most vulnerable to changes in climate. This could include losing farmland and causing a world food crisis. Also, many disadvantaged communities will not be able to recover from disasters.
Human activities are a factor to contaminate the environment
It’s no secret that human activities have had a negative impact on our environment. One example is water pollution. Not only do they take away from the quality of our drinking water, but they also diminish the ability of a body of water to perform important functions, such as providing ecosystem services. For instance, a river may be an important source of clean air, but when pollutants such as sewage are introduced into the water, they could end up doing more harm than good. The most effective way to combat water pollution is to educate yourself, your community, and other stakeholders on how to avoid this common mistake.
Similarly, human activities are a key component in the production of the stuff that makes up our planet. Some of the more mundane tasks, such as cleaning your gutters, may not be considered important, but the sheer amount of dirt accumulated over the course of a year will prove to be detrimental to the ecosystems we’re all a part of.
