How to Clean a Mirror

When you clean a mirror, you will want to make sure that you don’t use paper towels to do it. These will leave tiny bits of residue on the mirror and will also leave streaks. This will negate the effect of any “streak free” cleaning product you use. Instead, it would help if you used a microfiber cloth. It’s best to use a flat-weave microfiber cloth because it doesn’t allow any debris to stick to it and will dry faster.

Vinegar and water

If you are looking for a natural cleaning solution for your mirror, try using vinegar and water to clean it. The vinegar will eliminate any remaining stains and moisture and leave your mirror looking shiny and new. To avoid leaving streaks on your mirror, you can also use essential oils to leave a fresh scent.

White vinegar works well on mirrors but is not suitable for natural hardwoods. It may also cause discoloration in the wood. You may need to repeat this process several times to clean the mirror.

Microfiber cloth

A microfiber cloth can be used to clean mirrors. It is a good idea to use a misted glass cleaner on the cloth before wiping the mirror. This way, you can ensure that you get the entire mirror surface area cleaned. To avoid streaks, use a vertical motion when wiping the mirror.

Another way to clean a mirror is using white vinegar and water solution. To do this, mix the vinegar and water in a spray bottle. The solution will not leave any residue behind if you use distilled water. Then, spray the solution onto the microfiber cloth to wipe the mirror. Be careful, however, because this solution can get under the mirror and into corners.

Furniture polish

Polishing mirrored furniture is a great way to maintain shine. It’s best to polish it every two weeks to prevent smudges and fingerprints from appearing. Depending on how much you use it, you might even want to polish it after every use. Using a furniture polish is a great way to save money on cleaning supplies and time.

First, make sure the mirror is completely dry. If it’s wet, you’ll only move lint around. Next, use a microfiber cloth to wipe off lint, but don’t use one that has static cling. You can also use a crumpled-up newspaper. The newspaper’s ink should be petroleum-based to remove lint.

Using a lint-free cloth

Using a lint-free cloth to clean a mirror can be a very effective method of maintaining the luster of your mirror. However, you must be very careful when using cleaning solutions. Using old or expired ones can leave the glass looking hazy. Paper towels and other materials that leave lint can also leave streaks on the glass.

Before using any cleaning solution, ensure the mirror is completely dry. Wet mirrors will move the lint around. You can also use microfiber cloths to clean your mirror, but remember that this type of cloth can also add lint to the surface. Another option for a lint-free cloth is a crumpled-up newspaper. However, make sure that it contains petroleum-based ink.
