How to Clean a Toilet

If you are wondering how to clean a toilet, there are several tips to keep your toilet clean and sanitized. One method involves cleaning the toilet tank, including the interior and exterior. Over time, the metal parts of the tank will rust, and the interior will discolor. A quick way to clean this area is by spraying a disinfectant cleaner on the tank’s exterior and flushing the toilet.

Baking soda and vinegar

Using baking soda and vinegar to clean a toilet is an easy way to remove stubborn stains and toilet grime. Mix one cup of vinegar with one cup of baking soda. Add a little water and let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes before scrubbing it. Once the solution starts fizzing, use a toilet brush to scrub the stains away. Repeat as necessary until the stains are gone.

The mixture should be applied to the bowl of the toilet. Use a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients. The vinegar reacts chemically with the baking soda, so add it slowly. Wait two hours or overnight before plunging.

Durable paper towels

Toilet paper is one of the most common household cleaning supplies that can get dirty. Whether you want to keep the toilet clean and sanitary or save money, you will find many different types of toilet paper that work just fine. However, if you’re in the market for new towels for your toilet, you should consider using eco-friendly paper towels. These towels are biodegradable and compostable and can last up to 1500 uses.

If you’re looking for durable toilet paper towels, consider multifold paper towels. These are usually found in public restrooms and come in individual sheets folded in thirds to save space. In addition, they are EcoLogo and FSC-certified and use a chlorine-free elemental bleaching process. While these paper towels may be slightly rougher than standard paper towels, they have plenty of durability and can quickly soak up spills.

Non-bleach sanitizers

If you don’t want to use bleach to clean your toilet, you can opt to use other types of sanitizer. For example, hydrogen peroxide or vinegar can disinfect and clean surfaces. However, you should never mix the two in a single cleaner. Instead, use either one separately or both. Pour a small amount into the toilet bowl and spray it with a nozzle.

Oxalic acid is an oxidizing agent used in some toilet bowl cleaners. This corrosive acid attacks vinyl, plastic, and most organic materials. Oxalic acid is poisonous and should be used carefully, especially around children and pets. It is also essential to read the label carefully and follow the directions.

Bleach tablets or disks

Bleach disks or tablets can be used to clean toilets, but these should be used cautiously. They contain a powerful chemical that can damage the toilet and its parts. Also, these products have a strong odor. Therefore, they should be used in a well-ventilated area. Moreover, people should wear protective gear while handling bleach.

Bleach disks and tablets are easy to use and can clean a toilet quickly. They come in one-gallon bottles and can be used on plastic, stainless steel, and aluminum surfaces. These products are also safe for concrete and tile.

Cleaning the interior

Cleaning the interior of the toilet is an essential part of home hygiene. Not only do the seat and bowl need to be cleaned, but the tank and base can also become filthy. Not to mention, the lid and handle must be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Fortunately, there are several simple methods for cleaning all toilet parts.

The best way to disinfect a toilet is to use a disinfecting spray. This product should be applied generously and reach all parts of the toilet, including the wall behind and beside the toilet. The spray should be left for five minutes to allow it to work.

Cleaning the exterior of the toilet bowl

Cleaning the exterior of the toilet bowl is an essential part of toilet maintenance. This toilet part can get very dirty, especially the back part. You can use a cleaning solution or antibacterial cleaner sprayed on a paper towel to clean it effectively. After spraying the solution on the toilet bowl, allow it to sit for several minutes, and then wipe it dry with a dry paper towel.

Once you have thoroughly cleaned the exterior of the toilet bowl, you can apply an all-purpose cleaner to the interior. Using a cleaning solution that works well on the toilet’s surface is best. Make sure to spray the entire toilet, including the rim and base. You may also want to use a pumice stone to remove hard water rings.
